The short version: TrenEvents only collects the minimum information needed to let you save events and receive optional reminders. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to make money in any way. Your email address exists in our system solely so we can send you the reminder emails you ask for.
Who We Are
TrenEvents (trenevents.com) is a local events guide covering York, Lancaster, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is operated by Bryan Doersom. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at bjdoersom@gmail.com.
What Information We Collect
We only collect information when you choose to create an account. If you browse the site without signing in, we collect nothing about you personally.
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We store your email address and a list of the events you save. If you turn on email reminders for a saved event, we also store which events you want to be reminded about.
That's it. We don't use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics tools that collect personal information.
Why We Collect It
Your email address is used for one purpose only: to send you event reminder emails when an event you saved is happening the next day — and only if you turned the reminder on. We do not send newsletters, promotional emails, or any other unsolicited messages.
Your saved events list is stored so it's available across devices whenever you sign in.
What We Don't Do With Your Information
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not use it to profile you or serve you targeted content. We do not make money from your personal information in any way.
Third-Party Services
TrenEvents uses Firebase (a Google product) to handle account sign-in and store your saved events and reminders. Your data is stored on Google's servers and is subject to Google's privacy policy. We use Google Sign-In only — we never see or store your Google password.
We use Resend to deliver reminder emails. Resend receives your email address only for the purpose of sending that specific email. Their privacy policy is available at resend.com.
Children's Privacy
TrenEvents is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
How to Delete Your Data
You can turn off individual event reminders at any time by opening your Saved Events panel and tapping the 🔔 bell next to any event. You can turn off all reminders at once using the "All reminders off" button in the same panel.
To have your account and all associated data permanently deleted, email us at bjdoersom@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete my account." We will remove your data within 7 days.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how we handle your data in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. We will not reduce your privacy rights without providing clear notice.
